Dangers of Eating in the Car

Reading Cathy's post about her mascara reminded me of her recent story about choking while she was driving. And that reminded me of a news story I meant to share last week, but I probably fell asleep or something and forgot.

Seems there was this man who was driving while he ate his hamburger and onion rings. (Sound familiar?) Unfortunately he choked on the onion ring and blacked out. Since he was no longer conscious, his car hit a tree. Hitting the tree caused the airbag to implode. And guess what, the force of the airbag dislodged the onion ring, and he woke up.

Believe it or not! But it's true. The man's name was Mr Bryan Rocco, 43, from Vineland, New Jersey. I would say Cathy was pretty lucky. This guy's car was totaled, but at least he lived to tell the tale. Personally, I'm not going to eat in the car anymore.

I gotta say, I think I'm with you on that. You never think about that type of stuff, and now it's happened twice in the last few weeks. Scary!

Loved the story...I'll try not to eat in the car while I'm driving. :)

And what's this about a new truck?

That is scary...I mean I know fast food clogs my arteries but I never imagined the type of damage we've now been witness to. I would also like to add my vote for pictures of your new truck.

Who knew that that guy who was on his way to dying was actually saved by his airbag in more ways than one. That's a weird story. I would like to add my vote for pics of this new truck.

After I read your blog, I thought of what I wanted to comment, and then I read all the other comments, and Kristin put exactly the same thought i was going to comment. So, ditto Kristin I guess!
