I don't have anything hugely exciting to post, so I'll just catch you up on what's going on around here.
"The Foreigner" is a hilarious play and C. is doing a great job in his role as Froggy. This is his 10th accent to do on stage, and he continues the British (cockney even, maybe) here at home. It's kind of funny!
D is in rehearsal for Music Man which will run most of June. He is very sad the Mavs blew it.
J has finally finished his life guard training at Carrie's former place of employment. He was one cold boy when I picked him up--literally shivering, but he did pass the test to be a deep guard. His exact words were, "If Carrie can do it, I can for sure." His Eagle project is on Saturday. Can you guess where?--at the theater of course!
18 more days of school. Need I say more? I did finally finish reading The Book Thief (Linds was right--incredible language) and Water for Elephants. I enjoyed both very much, but Water had a couple of R rated scenes--just so you know.
I am looking for a good bread recipe and a good bean recipes. All ingredients must come from items you would keep in food storage--- so no eggs (not a problem with the beans, I'm sure). Anybody have good recipes that really taste good, as in people would actually eat them, and all ingredients can be stored? Thanks in advance.
And finally, I had the first watermelon of the season today. It was good and sweet. Yeah!!! I love sweet watermelon.
May everyone's week be as great as Carrie's was last week.... :)

Sounds like everyone's busy and happy! Wish I could see Uncle Chris in a play, I still haven't yet! Way to go Jacob for the lifeguarding and the eagle!
It continues to be a busy place there at your house, never a dull moment. Wish I could come and be a theater buff. I say YAY for school being out in 18 more days! Thanks for the post.
oh goodness. I am glad Jacob is a deep guard. It will be better that way. And his motivation amuses me! Dad was talking in his accent when he came here. And when I talk to him on the phone. sily man. 18 days of school is nice. I am glad I am already done though!! Thanks for posting. Hopefully I will get to see you next week... we shall see.
ps- I like how you hide everyone else's identity except mine. I dont really mind I just thought it was funny.
Seriously? 18 more days? When on earth do you get out? We have 22!
i cant wait to see Jakey the bean bag's haircut. Be sure to post a pic. But I really wish he would just cut the parts that cover his ears.
Hopefully I will make it home for the plays!! Stupid audit that we dont get a list for...
Thanks for the update! Everyone is so busy! I'm glad school is almost over you!
About the bread and bean recipes... I know I've got some, I'll have to look...
This was a great post. I will let you know if any of the bean recipes I have recently acquired come to fruition. I must admit that cooking beans has not proven to be one of my natural gifts :).
I'm glad you liked Book Thief...I had heard mixed reviews about Water for Elephants. Keep us posted on your suggestions. Did I tell you I read Wish you Well?? The one you recommended last year. I absolutely LOVED IT....one of my favorite books ever. What are your big summer plans besides LP??
hooray for school being out! unless you're in college going for summer term, which kind of stinks =) i don't have any recipes, but i hear ya about the watermelon. nate found this watermelon the other day at the grocery store that is a miniature seedless and they say every bite of it taste like the heart of a normal watermelon. i don't remember what it's called, but this was one good melon!
