I was planning to post a couple of pics of our trip to Boston, but alas, the picture genie has yet to upload them on my little memory card, so I will just update you on a busy week.
Traveling Man just left this morning. He was only here for about 24 hours and just made a quick trip to see his dad in "Man with the Pointed Toes" and his brother in "Beauty and the Beast." I sure miss him.
The band nerd has been at band all week--3 times a day most days--and is one tired, but brown young man. Hair is really long (or should I say bushy?) so he can pin it up in his shako. School starts tomorrow and summer reading projects are due then. Can you guess what he'll be doing today? Also, he has a cute girlfriend who is a senior.
The youngest actor in the family had a relatively easy week with the rest of us gone most of the time. Beauty and the Beast went really well last night, despite the fact that his wolf head fell off in the middle of the attack on Belle. He is also an "eggman" in the opening scene during the "Belle" number. At the first rehearsal where they used the egg basket, the prop lady forgot to tell him that the eggs were real, but not hard boiled. He noticed all this liquid dripping down from the basket. You guessed it.... Anyway, his summer reading is also due tomorrow, and we've only had to buy 2 or 3 copies of Ender's Game throughout the summer. Fortunately he remembered to bring home both his book and his Sunday shoes from the theater, so he should be all right. Did I mention he is also a very handsome spoon in the play?
MetheDad is still a little sore from the car accident. He is not bouncing back like I thought he would. Of course, he never really has time to recuperate. After the accident he didn't take a single day off from work, but at least he worked from home. And the day after the accident he performed both the matinee and the evening performace at the theater, which is about 50 miles away. He couldn't drive, so we had to arrange to meet someone in order to get him there. Then the next day he stayed at church for 5 hours doing his calling in the Spanish branch. And he wonders why the pain is coming back. ... The litle yellow car was totalled, so I guess he'll be car shopping soon.
And I was at school last week planning and preparing for what will be an extremely busy year with yearbook and a new pre-AP curriculum. Good thing I really like my job! Having also attended 2 mid-week activities and one presidency meeting last week, I'm really behind here at the house. Oh, well, life goes on. At least my scrap-bookin girl is cooking dinner today. We will enjoy that. And I'm looking forward to seeing my two L. girls next weekend. Hope they both get to come.
Love to all of you out there in blog land. I love reading about your thoughts and families.

Wow-you have been busy! I didn't know there was a car accident...what happened? I hope things are progressing toward a successful first day of school tomorrow. We toyed with the idea of coming up your way or driving over to see HappyMom & Co. this weekend but, alas, the fateful meeting is next weekend so we're stuck. It'll be nice to think of your fun upcoming weekend if this first week back starts to drag :).
Umm...I'm also wondering about the accident of Methedad because we hadn't heard anything about it. I'm happy to hear that he wasn't hurt worse if the car was totaled. Thanks goodness for blogs or we still would be out of the loop.
I'm still hoping to get up to see Beauty and the Beast to see the eggman/wolf/candle perform. How soon would you need to know to get tickets for possibly petunia and I on the 15th?
My band nerd and I both laughed at the thought of your band nerd with his hair up in his shako...kind of a scarey picture.
I'm so glad you love your job. Your kids are lucky to have you because you put so much into it. Have a great first day of school. I'll look forward to hearing how the week went.
Sounds like the new calling is keeping you very busy as well. I think that's a good thing though, makes you feel like you're making a difference.
Enjoyed the update immensely!
Thanks for the update! I'm a little disappointed that out of 6 kids and a husband, I was the only child not only mentioned. :( Sniff. I even cooked a really good meal with not done vegetables!
Oh well, I still love you anyway. :)
Would you think he'd be offended if next time we saw him we called him eggman?
Also, what about the accident? A totalled car sounds scary to me.
Good luck with the upcoming scool year!
what a busy woman you are. I suppose that is why we have not talked in a little while. I really hope that I get to come too. CE said she would still go even if I did not get to go. But hopefully I will. good update. love you
Tickets for Beauty and the Beast are selling very fast, so I would need to get tickets ASAP for the 15th because that is closing night. However, he performs on all Thursday nights as well, and on Tuesday the 11th. I hope you can come. That would be fun.
MetheDad's car accident severely bruised his sternum, but at least it wasn't broken like last time. Sorry to just be letting everyone know, but then again, thank goodness for blogs.
And finally, HiTechHoney, you were mentioned in the same paragraph as your female siblings, but I called you Scrapbookin girl and I said I was looking forward to your dinner that night. And dinner was very good, pork chops tender, new sauce very tasty.
Dang, now I know why your blog is called "spread too thin," you're busy! I got a good laugh out of eggman's adventures at the theater and a REALLY good laugh picturing the band nerd with his hair in bobby pins. I'm glad MetheDad wasn't hurt more in his accident as well. Is he in the market for another bright yellow car? Good luck with school!
